Just thought I'd give this a shot before attacking the damn thing with a hack saw...forgot the combination. Anyone of you jewel thieves out there willing to share a professional secret?
FWIW, I believe it's an ABUS padlock.
Thanks in advance! Bob

When I am picking a lock I look for the one in my price range that has the features I want :P
Seriously, If the lock isnt in a flammable area then I have seen people heat the lock barrel up with a torch till its redhot then splash water on it. The brass pins and tumblers shatter (I have only seen this on bicycle U-locks). Cool but it might be a bit extreme though...try a hacksaw or BIG bolt cutters first

it depends on feel...... and what combo lock type it is...... some you can pull out on the locking mechanism and go through the digits untill you fell or here a click

Bolt cutters.....at work we call them the "spare keys".

usually a hammer works wonders
if its got a hardened bar you can waste a lot of time trying to saw/cut it.

i've used crow bars, long metal bars, 3 and 4 pound hammers, and bolt cutters (master keys), and i've even seen locks cut then welded back together, weaker but if you've got a welder its free.

not spare keys..........the universal key..............
But yes a big pair of bolt cutters and a hammer will get you where you want to go.

The hammer method will work, but often as not you will break the hasp and leave the lock in tact. If you use a hack saw be prepared to spend a good part of the day on the job.
Bolt cutter or a locksmith.

I was looking for a bit more finesse, but I guess it'll have to be brute force after all.

It is also possible rip the housing off the cheaper combo locks. Or even just snap them open by pure pressure.
Just requires a couple pairs of plier and crazy grip.

wat kinda lock is it? locker lock type? get a thin thin thin strong piece of metal and stick it through the part that flips up, itll push the tab off the indentation holding the lock in and pop it up. if its like a door lock, get a paper clip and a screwdriver and put slight pressure on the direction u turn it to open and slide the paperclip on the cylinders till they lock and then turn and whala. if its those breifcase type locks, do the same as the door one, cept instead of cylinders theres plates, get the open tangs all inline. if all else fails, brute force always works
