I just got a set of rims. They are 17x7.5. I don't know a thing about tire sizes so I was wondering if anyone here can help. I will post a pic of the rims shortly. Thanks

A 235/40 or 245/40 will work a 225/45 is a little bigger than stock but would also work well.

Check Tirerack.com and they will drop ship to a local tire shop!!

:!: Funny guy! Okay, I'll let you know when I want to get rid of them.... you gonna be around when I'm buried in my car? :P

Brands of tires? Weeeellllllllll..... I had Hankook Ventus Sport K104's (still do in the front) and they are okay. They are in the $100/tire range. They work well in the front, but are getting down there in tread. They did okay in the rear, but my 6M could kick them out when I wanted and it did it sometimes when I didn't want too!

I now have Toyo Proxes4's in the rear. These tires are in the $200/tire range. These have an INSANE amount of grip! I can hardly do a burnout and the ass stays PUT! Wet traction (very important here in Oregon for my DD Supra) is just beyond belief....almost as good as their dry traction! I highly recommend these tires, however, the price tag isn't for everyone.

Many of the $100/tire tires are decent enough. I know the Khumo Ecsta Supra 712 is VERY popular. Probably because it says Supra on the side :P I have no experience with these tires and so cannot comment on how they compare with the two I mentioned. However, I would like to try them someday. Merely having a selection of tires is an overwhelming thing for a MKII owner!

I have kumho 712 "supra" on my MK3 and they are a fine tire but do not grip well. Any amount of abuse causes severe squealing and complaints from the rear tires. I like how they are controllable under loss of traction but the noise is terrible.
