an associate of mine will sell 4 GT-S rims $25 a pop
I have 82 L-Type, asthetically; i cannot continue to look at those O.E.
rims much longer, is it really 225/60-14 on the P-Types or nothing, or can i go a "cheaper" size.

My $300 L-Type was just in my price range, much better than my $500
79' MkI. I guess i want my jewish heritage to reflect wrapped around my rims.

I've heard of people going down to 195 on p-type rims, but that is NOT recomended. I one junkyard rim with a 205 on my car right now. Seems to fit all right. Haven't had it out on the road yet because everything in front of my strut towers is stripped to the metal. I'd say 205 is the lowend and 245 is the highend with 225 being just right. Look around a bit though and I bet you'll find 225s at a decent price which will look the best with your p-type rims. Just my 2cents, as I'm no tire expert.

One of my junk yard parts cars had 175s on the 14X7 stock wheels. Talk about crappy looking.

BFG Radial T/A's in 225/60 - 14 are like $63 each. Go up to 235/60 - 14 and you get a few more choices... Firestone FH Indy 500, Dunlop GT Qualifier, and BFG T/A's for $58 -$68. That's cheap in my book. I have had the BFG's on my other 85 p-type (235/60 - 14) and they were nice for the price and lasted a long time. If you are looking to save cash, buy them online, then call a few local garages to find cheap mount/balance. You don't have to stick strictly to the 225/60 14 size but anything less than 215 will look way to thin on the p-type wheels IMO.

Guys.....
In this case you can probably get away w/ 205/60's or possibly 215/60's. REMEMBER, this is going on a L-Type. It has been documented that if you install 225's, you're going have fender lip rubbing issues. If this was going on a P-Type, then I "personally" would stay w/ the 225's.

I got 225/60/14 for I think $43 tirerack falkins. Not too bad of a tire. Garages around here want 83 for what sizes they can get. Dont cheat the look of the car $43 is real cheap and they are the right size for the car

my ptype has 235/60/14 Dunlop GT Qualifiers on the back and Cobra or something 225/60/14s on the front. not a problem yet. only got the 235s on the back though because i needed them ASAP and the 225s would have to be special ordered.

I have 225's on p-type wheels on my 85 L-type, no rubbing issues. You should be fine with that size....looks much better than the 195/70's that your '82 probably has.

my 82 L-type had severe rubbing issues on teh front with 225's, but was just fine on the back.
i've seen as narrow as 175's on P-type wheels, on a mki supra no less.

my L has P wheels, with 215s on front and 225s on rear, they fit great, no rubbing...
once i accidentally put one 225 on front and it rubbed like a bastard.
oh, and i have ST springs with a 1" rubber spacer in them, same wheels and tires, NO rub, even at high speed on rough roads.
