well, i think i found a set of hoshino impul pro meshs...
really nice wheels, kinda beat up, but fixable.
gold with polished lip, one pair 15x6" with a 20 offset, and one pair 15x6.5" with a 27 offset.

from what ive read and been told, these should be a good fitment, maybe a little narrow, but are there any problems i should look out for?
other than the narrowness of the wheels, cause i can live with that for a little while.

would a 215/55/15 fit ok on them? cause i can get kumho ecsta 711s in that size, pretty cheaply.
the tire size calculator says they will be within 1.3% on the speedo, which is kinda nice.
any other suggestions?
are 225/50/15s too wide??

also, i remember reading that suprafiend (i think) was running 225/50/15s and using a 4.3 speedo gear with a 4.1 rear end to make his speedo read accurately.
since i have a 3.73 diff, could i do the same thing with a 3.9 speedo gear? how hard would that part be to find?

i wish i could remember all that offset stuff and how to figure out how it works...

got any pics of the wheels?

225/50-15s are off by around 5 percent, thats why I'm running the different diff to fix it. I wouldn't even worry about 1.3 percent, the stock speedos are off by at least that much anyways at high speeds

Are these wheels going on an ltype? They're a really poor size for a ptype, and not the greatest for an L but workable. Spacers would help, but those +27 ones are going to need alot if they're used in the rear, like a change in offset of an inch. If you don't mind how they look super sucked in I doubt you'll have any rubbing issues front or back.

They wouldn't be true 3 piece would they?

yeah, theyre going on my L type.
i thought the range of offsets was something like +17-25, so i figure these are on the high side, but should be workable.

might consider getting some thin spacers just to bump em out a little, or adaptors later on.
or if i really dont like how they look ill just sell/trade em to some ae86 guy.

still wondering if 225s are too wide for those wheels, im pretty sure they are too wide for the 6"s but what about the 6.5s?

im guessing theyre two piece wheels, got a pic here if anyone wants to tell me different.

in the poor pics they look to have a nice little bit of lip anyways, guess ill findout tomorrow when i go pick em up :)
yeah, theyre cheap enough to make it worth my while. :D

hey, they're ssr formula knock offs. 225s would fit the 6.5s but not very well. I have 225s on one set of my 15x7s right now and I really dislike how they fit, I'm having a set of wheels widened to 8 inchs to fix it.

well, got em today, they got a little curbing, but look solid.
two piece wheels, weighing 12 pounds on my bathroom scale.

guess ill have to do a test fit and take pics, maybe later tonight.

thanks for the advice fiend

you know what you should do, get these instead. They're the same type of wheel that was on that celica you liked so much....

And they're in a really good size and offset for an ltype. 0 bids so far, 2 days to go. His buy it now price is crazy, they won't go for anywhere near that.

nice find fiend, but there are 8 bids and its already at 400 bucks, us$... a lot outa my price range.

these wheels were cheap, and look good, imo.
i figure they will do for a little while, at least until i can afford ROH snypers or some better fitting mesh wheels.

well I don't have a firm deal worked out yet but in the town next to me is Kodiak wheels (http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/) and they make their own wheels, including hoops there. They advertise they can make any size of lip. I called them once and they quoted me 120 cdn for a 15inch lip, but I'm sure I can get a better deal if talk to the right person in person. I would also like to see if they have the ability to cut old lips off and weld on new ones. All their wheels are 3 piece so thats another unknown. It may end up being cheaper just to get new hoops inside and out from them for this pair of wheels, and just reuse the centers. I got another set of 15 inch ssrs for free so whatever works best. The front lips are crappy and the wheel is in a fwd offset, but the backspacing happens to be exactly the right amount that I need.
