Noticed today as I was driving a buzzing sound coming from the rear of the car... like the defroster or something was on or the sound of perhaps the wiper on the hatch stuck and the motor going.

Well the wiper isn't on and when I pressed the defrost button the sound got lower.

Any ideas of where to look? I didn't get a chance to look since I was on my way to work.

Edit - I don't think it's speaker related as there is no stereo in the car :)

Thanks.

it could possibly be the power antenna

On closer inspection it seems to be coming from the rear passenger side. Fuel pump maybe?

I'd say that's likely. How loud is it? Just barely perceptable or louder? I've never noticed my fuel pump when I'm in the car. But then, I almost always have music on.

It's noticeable. You really only hear it when you are standing back there and when inside the car with no music/noise you can hear the buzz. I would say if you were playing music at a decent volume you probably wouldn't hear it at all.

There's a check connector near the afm that you can use to troubleshoot. If you short it out it causes the fuel pump to turn on. It's described in the efi section of the tsrm.
