i can phoenix
a vibrant goes "braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"
a dynomax goes "brooooorrraaarrr"
a brullen goes "wheee wheee wheee" all the way home.
lol, what i think is a better solution is sound clips, but hosting them is a royal pain in the ass.
once i get around to it, ill record mine... basically open pipe leading to a muffler you can see through, its loud, but tolerable.

I'll try and record mine tommorrow. It will probably be a small quicktime video since I dont think my camera will do just audio. I have a pacesetter header, 2.5 crush bent pipe, and a flowmaster turbo muffler.

Put up a post on the shows/meets forum and ask everyone who was at the toronto meet how they liked the sound of a Brullen flying by them at 6000rpm...personally I have yet to hear a more sweeter sounding exhaust...wish i had an audio clip.

I have a PowerTech. I like the sound very much. Got to hear it very well at the VA meet when the car was on the dyno. I got mine from ebay but they also have a web site.

are you wanting a quite or a loud muffler?, a straight through could be considered unbearable(esp. in the backseat of ur buddys mark 3 at 210kph/north of 5000rpm)

I'm actually looking for a quite muffler, something that wont make loud noise when I,m cruising the street at 3000rpm. Actually, my muffler backfire at idle........this is a real piece of s.......

Advance Auto sell the Dyno Max Super Turbo mufflers for $39.95. They are nice and quite. Except when you get on it really hard.

I was looking at thoses today....they looked like they would be a little loud...but if you say so..I trust you.
One thing that bothered me about them was the diameter of the pipe. I'm still running the stocker exhaust. Do they make a smaller diameter that I just didn't see or do you have to weld an adapter in there? My muffler is shot and I want to upgrade but I can't afford a cat back at the moment. I'd like to buy a realivly nice muffler weld it to the stocker then cut it off and then weld it to a catback when the cash comes in.

Hi guys !
I am lloking at prices for mufflers too... Here in the US, it is incredible how cheap it can be ! I mean, Mufflers on Ebay for less than 50 bucks... In France I wouldn't find anything under 350 dollars...
Whatever, have you got some good things to suggets ? I'm thinking about buying one here, and have it shipped to France.
I like the PowerTech pretty much, as suggested before :
http://i7.ebayimg.com/03/i/02/5d/1b/8c_1.JPG
I think I would prefer a single-exhaust, though... The double exhaust doesn't fit with the kind of hole we have under the rear bumber, if you see what I mean...
I today have an aftermarket replacement exhaust, brand "Walker"... I don't know if you know it, but it is really of poor quality
I'm looking for a good look of course, a little noise but not too much : I use a lot my car on highway (cruising at 100 mph  ), I don't want to become deaf...
Thanks if you have any ideas or comments :)

The thing is, I have a lot of things to bring back to France, and how do you think I would be able to make a straight pipre right from the headers to the hood fit in a bag :P
That's the problem with the pipe... That's why I am just looking for the muffler (anyway, no cat in France, I will manage a home-made inox pipe).
I was talking about the muffler
I did'nt realize their were supra's in France, or mabey i just didn't think about it.
Is'nt a 2.8 L realy big over there? and i thought they were very strict on emmisions? Or is that England?
Wasn't someone getting a audio clip? I would very much like to see it, although it is hard to tell volume on a clip

Hi !
Yes there are Supras in France, here is mine :) : http://www.celicasupra.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10788
The Supra is a pretty big car in France, and a 2.8 6 cylinders is a pretty big engine. People here mainly drive 4 cylinder diesel engines (70% of the cars sold...)
Gas is trully expensive, to say so... 1.20 € for one litre, that makes for you guys... around $ 5.50 a gallon. Yeah, hard times...

You're talking about which exhaust ?

thedjfou,
I personally would look into magnaflow.
They have excellent ratings and I have heard that the sound is not deadening but a nice blend of deep and throaty.
I have read some reviews and as you are probably aware if it looks the same it may not perform the same.
I have an old email from about a year and a half ago. I am going to copy and paste. The pricing may have changed but at that time I could not find a lower price on this muffler.
here it is:
I am chiming in late but anyway wanted to pass along some info I had found to be cheap last year. Maybe it will help maybe not.
This is a copy of part of my conversation:
I have been in contact with you about a magnaflow 14319 you qouted me $81 with a 5% discount if the order exceeded $100. Ok I want two of them . Also do you have resonators for the 3" inlet/outlet maybe 18"-20" long? How much and also what tip (most common is fine) goes with these exhausts? and a cost on them. How do I order? the site or is there a number I can call you at?
Thanks.
Josh,
we can be reached @ 818-998-7280.
we do have resonators in a glasspack style 18" long 4" around, cost is $35
each.
Tips are what is personally liked...I prefer the Thermal R & D tips because
of their superior construction and look. Made of T304 stainless and
polished to a great finish. These sell more than any other tips we have.
Take a look on our web page under Thermal tips in our store area.
Feel free to call me with the part #'s for the tips you'd like, we'll take
your credit card information over the phone and get the order processed
ASAP. Likely to be shipped on Mon.
All orders over $100 receive 5% off.

Thanks for your post, that's really cool !
Can you tell me what a resonator is ?
I've been to check on Ebay, it seems rather expensive... :(

I would go with Magna Flow or Borla.
Then again you could foget it all and go with the ultimate free flow, striaght pipes.
Taking the cat off would give a little extra too.

Its basically a sound dampener. So youput one to two of those inline and the sounds is less.

I think I'll perhaps do that, back in France, the problem being traveling on highways (so noisy)...
I don't have any cat, my Supra is a french one, I have 170 hp stock :D
