After replacing everything I could my 84 6mgte, it still won't start.

The problem happened one day when I went to start it after work and it wouldn't run. It's getting a spark, the timing is correct, and it's getting tons of gas. Infact, if I keep turning it over it eventually it floods out till it hydrolicly locks.. I've since tested 2 ECUs, 2 AFMs, TPS, 2 distributers, 2 coil/ingniters, fuses, and even replaced the old 6m with a good compression 6m. It still cranks over till the pistion locks from gas. Also, did some misc testing on the engine harness and found nothing. I'm at a complete loss here and am about ready give up and take a match to it.. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Check the FPR and also check and see if the restrictor in the fuel return line to the gas tank is plugged. The diaphragm on the FPR could be blown and allowing fuel to be pumped into the intake manifold through the FPR vacuum hose.

Be sure and drain your oil as well since most likely there's a whole bunch of gas mixed in with the oil. Explosive fumes in the crankcase!

IT RUNS!!!

There were four things wrong - one was the stock fuel regulator was jammed shut - thank you Dave A! The others were the distributer was off by 2 teeth so the timing was really advanced, ~60 BTDC and one spark plug wire wasn't secure to the plug! The other problem was one of my good coils went bad. Swapped it out and she fired right up.

What a PIA!

Thanks everyone for the help.
