Can i remove the theft deterrent computer, and the doors will still lock, unlock with the key?, or do i need to keep this computer for my headlights, tail lights, and horn?

I don't know if you can remove it. I'm sure it will create an open somewhere, my 90 celica had a toyota alarm system that was wired in after the customer bought it, so i just removed the whole harness that it messed with ...but with the supras, i've never got into that? good luck...
but may I ask why you are wanting to remove the system.

Well, Im lightening my car, and Im trying to make my car wiring a little simpler. I have already removed the old speaker wires and a few unnecessary light bulbs hidden throughout the car. If I can remove the system I will dabble a little more with the electrics.
I happen to have an 85 celica supra manual, and an electric manual specific for the 85, Just wondering, Inside the manual, the door locks and headlights and taillights are supposidely somehow connected to the computer.

Hmmmm....try pulling the plug on the theft computer and see what happens. My guess would be that the wiring for the alarm system is pretty well taped up and would be a royal PITB to remove. Besides, the horn for the alarm is probably the heaviest component. 8)

looking at the digram for the stock theft computer there are only 3 wires that lead from the Theft computer to the door lock control relay and they are just taped in to the key unlock switches and the door lock solenoid. The others connections I believe are just (-) inputs the the headlight and tail light relays. I think that if you remove it everything should work normally. The only way to find out is to unplug the theft computer and see if it all still works...

I removed it, And everything works flawlessly. Just as it did before. If anyone wants the computer, I will take 20 bucks for it. Its a Pin type plug that plugs right in the back of it. There really is no need for it unless you want an alarm system.

You must have really heavy light bulbs :P

As Batmobile said. I also removed the alarm ECU from my '86 before installing an aftermarket alarm and everything still works; lights, horn, locks.
A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."

Good one Ross, But in all seriousness, I need my car wiring to be a little simpler, so I can find specific wires that i may need in the future. Cutting down on those wires helps me find things faster, and makes it possible for me to add more upgrades.

I havent been behind the pannels where the stock alarm is at in a long time and I need to get in there to wire up the new one. Any tips on getting at the stock alarm? where do the wires run to/from?
Thanks

They are behind all the interior panels behind the driver seat. You should remove the rear seats, And the back interior panels to get your hand up in there. Just wiggle it off the piece of steel that is holding it in there. I plan on putting a newer alarm system in later on. But for now im all set.
