I spent today relocating the battery in the hatch area, and for some reason I decided to take lots of photos while I was doing it. So if any of you are interested in The Complete Idiot's Guide to Relocating Your Battery, click here:

looks very nice.....the orange is kind of crazy i would have went with a more nuetral color of crazy big wire...lol, but very nice write up, however we would have to switch passenger and driver side here in the states correct.

Gentlemen,
Great job Norbie! I relocated my battery a couple of years ago and installed an Optima battery which did not require venting. Also, I ran my cables down the drivers side, directly into the rocker panel - through to and beneath the rear seat area to the rear most passenger corner. Not only did it help to make the car handle more neutrally, it also made room for additional electronic components. Great Job on the write-up Norbie...
Regards,
Carlos

Just a couple of notes for the US folks. If you plan to take your car to the track to be legal for NHRA you need;
1. A sealed box (Moroso is one and those welded Al ones with a seal are others) because the MkII has an open trunk. Those $40 ones at Walmart and marine shops are technically illegal.
2. A cutoff switch on I believe the negative side
This is if you have a relocated battery only and doesn't matter how fast the car is.
