oil gauge PLEASE HELP!!!!!

last night i did an oil change on my car i drove it for about 30 sec and i noticed the gauge that is next to the temp gauge was really high like past the line im wondering if that is a oil temp or pressure or level gauge and is it abnormal for it to operate at that high of a reading

Sounds line you pulled the wire off the oil pressure sender, and it has found an electrical ground.

well i went to get immisions and inspections on my car and the egr valve was extreamly cloged luckly my mechanic is is also my step dad so he spent about 4 hours uncloging it. after it passed with flying colours after that it wasent doing it anymore. then i parked it for like a week before i could get my plates, so today when i got my plates it only did it untel the temp guage was at like half then it went down but anytime i went over 4 grand it would jump back up i dont know :?
