Can you give some more info? What have you checked? Timing? Vacuum leaks? Did this happen suddenly or gradually? etc.. Give us as much information as possible and I'm sure someone here will have an answer for you.

My 83' will do that every time I let the battery die. The computer "forgets" how to keep the idle up. I charge the battery and run the car with my foot on the gas to keep it from dieing until it gets to operating temp. Then I lift me foot, and let it die. I restart it and let my foot keep it alive for a couple of minutes then shut it off. When I restart it usually will have enough running time/fuel trim stats/whatever in the computer to hold the idle. Sometimes, I have to restart it a few times for short runs with it at operating temp before it will take over the idle, but it always goes back to normal for me.

well all of this happened all of a sudden. i went to work wed night and it died on the way home(the way i described it in the "lights on" topic). before that everything seemed fine. it may have seemed fine because i know close to nothing about cars performance but i was driving it daily before that. some one tells me it may be the fuel pump is not operating correctly? could it be? now that its the weekend ill have a little time to spend on it and burrying myself in my tsrm. :x

Is it an automatic or manual, Where did it die, Were you stopped and then put your foot on the accelerator and died? We need a little more info, A story would be helpful. Thanks Brad B.
