Clutch Sliping

I have an 84 and something is wrong with my clutch. lol. when i i start out in 1st and i give it gas my rpms shoot up to about 5000, then it catches and slowly drops down toi normal rpms. the same thing happens when i shift into second. i cheked the master cylinder and it seems that if there is a leak that it is very small. i havent noticed fluid under my car after its been parked.

If anyone has some advice that would be great.

Sounds like a bad clutch, I'd say pull the tranny and take a look. Tt should be relatively obvious if it is trashed or not, and replacing it is not that hard or expensive.
