Well after being seperated from my car for a year I finally got it up here to where i moved, and the project is officially back underway.
I have the 6mge swapped in, Still haven't started it.
Had a hell of a time getting it up here. The car did not want to leave the state of Georgia, but I can't blame it, its lived there for thirty years. Anyway...I got down there, my cousin had the car buried in a pile of garbage, I dug it out to find the wheels had been took off of it, I put the wheels on and went to load it on the tow dolly. My cousin was pushing it and decided to turn around and push it with his ass while grasping the bumper, his skinny ass cracked my flawless tail light. Then I got about thirty miles up I75 and a rusty side skirt on the passenger side blew off and hit the tire, the tire blew out, took the fender flare wth it, got the tire changed, and then made it ten miles and a tire on the dolly blew apart, the supra went to swapping lanes at 75mph, went to walmart, auto center was closed, but bought a tire, changed it with a couple screw drivers and then got back on the road, finally after that the trip was fairly uneventful.
It took 3 hours to get there, took 11 hours to get back. But it made it here mostly intact. I am super stoked, and very happy. So I have my supra back. I'll post some pics soon of the damage, and what kind of shape the car is in, then you all can see the before and after. I'm fairly anxious myself. Now only money stands in the way of turning this thing into my dream car.

I drove over to my sister's place in the next town over, about fifteen miles to pick her up...

I drove over to my sister's place in the next town over, about fifteen miles to pick her up Saturday night to go to the BB King concert in Madison about thirty miles away. On the way, I noticed that Athena's oil pressure was kinda low - about 1/4 deflection, so I parked Athena at my Sis's house for the night and asked Sis if she minded we'd take her Scion to Madison. I should've been more forthcoming regarding why I wanted to park it for the night.
Yesterday Sis called me and said she was stranded - she was going to surprise me and drive Athena home to me. She said the engine made a funny noise and then died about eight miles out of town. She thought maybe the engine seized up. She pulled off the road and tried to start it but click click. I went over and rescued her and her three-week-old kid who she had along for the ride. Got Athena towed home and checked the oil - dipstick had a spot of oil on the very tip, tried to turn it over with a socket and breaker bar on the front crank bolt - wouldn't budge.
Athena is an automatic - A340E, and the shifter is off a hair so unless you know it, sometimes you're in second and not in Drive or Overdrive. My sister was probably tooling along about sixty five in second gear for eight miles and combined with the oil being low Athena gave up. The last time my sister drove one of my Supras, she hit a deer. Damn. She was crying but I said it's okay.
I recently acquired another 7mgte from Craig DeShon that I was going to put in the black '85 that I got from Jonathan but I guess I will drop it in Athena instead, along with a W-58. I was going to do the auto-to-manual conversion soon anyway, while I am off for the summer.
I am done with school starting last Friday and off work for the summer starting this Friday so slight change in plans. Right now I have three '85 Supras and all are dead. The black one spun a bearing, my other white one has a blown head gasket and Athena is seized up. So I will be busy for awhile.

not on a Supra but my Crown, hoping someone knows what could be up

so on Friday i took my Crown (7MGE) a hour out of town, i was hitting 160kmh going there and it rode absolutely fine. when i stopped, i thought i faintly smelled coolant but it thought whatever its just the heat. came home Saturday, poked around the engine bay, and the coolant reservoir was empty. checked the rad, it was down about half a liter. thought i checked the overflow a couple weeks ago and it was halfway full like it should be. when i checked it after getting off the highway, there was wet coolant on top of the reservoir tank itself. theres crust there from coolant always being on it, i thought the hose from the rad to the overflow was sweating a bit, but the small hose on top of the reservoir that dumps coolant to the ground if the reservoir overflows was wet like coolant went through it. thought uh oh headgasket

car and engine have only 92,000km but ive read that 7MGE headgaskets can just go no matter how lightly the cars been driven. only thing is theres no other real blown headgasket symptoms. oil isnt milky at all, if i run the engine hot theres no bubbles of air going into the reservoir, no overheating, there is a bit of white smoke for a minute when i cold start it but its not really thick or sweet smelling, etc. havent run a compression test yet

i thought maybe the rad cap was bad, so i threw a new one on (old one was from when the car was in Japan, so at least 6-7 years old, more likely 10). read a million threads on the subject last night, someone said that a bad thermostat can cause it (how i cant imagine), but i put a new one in this morning. old one looked old, Toyota one with TEQ stamped on it so for all i know it could be original

today i drove it alot got it warm, went on the highway again but only for about half a hour hitting 120kmh. no coolant loss at all. does it sound plausible that the thermostat or rad cap were bad and caused coolant to go somewhere? its not leaking coolant, so it either burnt it when i was flying on the highway or it got pushed out the reservoir somehow. hoping the headgasket isnt bad, but if it is i can make a weekend out of it and do the timing belt at the same time

thanks for any info

So I picked up my first Celica Supra, an early 86 P-Type in white w/ blue interior.
155k on the original, very clean, and strong running 5mge motor. Sadly, strapped to it is an automatic transmission.
I picked her up for $800, but am going to have to deal with a few (hopefully easy) title issues. As well as a small amount of body damage, in an inconvenient spot!
From what I can tell, according to Autocheck, what I've got is a one owner, from 1986 to 2009, Arizona (RUST FREE !) car. In 2009 it was involved in some kind of theft/accident. The right passenger fender needs to be replaced, and the passenger door handle is missing. After this, the car was deemed a salvage and sold at an insurance auction. It has not been registered since.
Realistically, a new fender, new door handle, a new right side blinker/flasher, and this thing is good to go. I've even got the headlight whiskers!

Now, to start with, I'm looking to just pretty this thing up back to stock(ish) condition.
Gotta get an a/c-heater blower, one headlight does not pop up but does turn on, and I'd love to get the center console courtesy light and top dome light working again.
So far, I've cleaned the crap out of the carpets and seats.... pics to come soon. And plenty of questions as I go on this journey I'm sure!
