    First ever thread posting

    Hey guys,
Quick post to say hi, bought my 86 mkii about 3 months ago and am learning allot about it. Been checking this site for a bit and just registered and this is my first post. My project came from VA and it is now in AL. It's all stock and complete minus the trim pieces in front of the headlights. Can't get them at my dealer and as I am finding out parts are tough to find. Any ideas on home I might find these I would really appreciate it.
I look forward to reading and learning from everyone using this site.

    Thanks

    Welcome aboard!

You can always post in the "Wanted" section of the "Classified" thread. We have several members who have large parts collections, and I'm sure somebody will have the headlight trim you need.

Welcome. Sounds like the trim you are looking for are what we've come to call "whiskers", not knowing an appropriate descriptive technical term. But one of our members took up the task of creating a mold and recreating a quantity of them in a urethane resin. I believe there are still a few for sale. If you search "whiskers" you will find the related threads.

Occasionally we've been successful in getting some random part reproduced or an aftermarket part made in limited quantities through the power of the "group buy", like a minimum of 50 copies. But its always been a case of you snooze, you lose as it has usually been five to ten years before we get another group buy organized if ever. You can't just log in here twice a year or you'll miss them. Stay up on this forum's latest news, keep some cash handy and be ready to pounce the next time we get a deal together.

    OOOPS.....

I thought he was referring to the bezels around the headlights.

The "whiskers" are still available from Toyota Parts Zone. They're not cheap, but they're brand-new OEM parts.

There a few made up words that we all use.
    "Header Panel":
    http://www.celicasupra.com/forums/gt...2120j2227136j5
We also have acronyms for parts and conditions.
    BHG: Blown Head Gasket.
    LSD: Limited Slip Differential.

There are a few old schools types that use some here as well.
FUBAR. You better look that one up.

ECU,EGR,FPR and the list goes on.
Most of us are too lazy to spell is out,or just in a hurry.
    The FAQ is kinda fun.
    Discontinued parts list. (BIG LIST).

    Welcome to the show.
