    Same problem with my 1984 Supra, but the oil pressure gauge started working again !!!
    Has anyone here been able to take their car to the dealer now that we are in 2008 and the get this accomplished ??? Would be interesting to know ......................

    ok, went in a week and a half ago, no problems at all. they checked my vin, the recall was still active. they ordered the part for me, it came in last thursday, i went in this morning, they swapped out the oil pressure sending unit. went all smooth.
    they were a bit shocked when i pulled in, but never gave me a hard time at all.
    I'd suggest all you guys check your vin by calling toyota corporation.

    what if your motor locks up due to the issue. *Note* I just got the car and was locked up when I got it.

    I highly doubt Toyota would claim responsibility, not to mention you're not the original owner and bought it in the present 'locked up' condition. But, one never knows until one calls Toyota Corporation with the VIN #...
