Ive been all over central Va to over 4 dealers. WHERE ARE THE REPLACEMENT KEYS!?!? ive spent over 40$ on keys that will "fit".. they dont. the part of the key that sticks out of the ignition will not fit past the butterfly guard. they work fine for the doors/hatch. i really dont want to grind down my keys.
I had to grind down the sides of my key for my 84 L-type. The key for my celica is not factory and didnt need to be ground to fit the codes on the key are X137 and TR33 key brand is ilco usa. If that is any help to you.
i appreciate it man. i was hoping not to have to grind it down. im doing the 5.0 V8 swap and im testing the electronics. might as well go keyless chip. R.I.P. OEM MKII keys
Pretty sure if you can do an engine swap cutting the head on the ignition key to look decent isn't that hard. There's a lot of harder problems to solve on these car.
me too. My 2 keys are both by COLE. Fit's perfectly.A larger key place will have them.
I installed an Auto Loc system for anti-theft. The fob opens the doors and without it the car will NOT start. Even with the key in the ignition.
The bad thing was that it took me all day to install it! $100 off of FEE PAY.
You going to go push button start? I never though of that idea,5 years ago.
I got lucky when I was under the car doing something.
Found a pristine key in one of those little "Hide-A-Key" boxes!
It's the "big" key with the rubber head.
