aftermarket valve springs
Hey all,
I'm looking into getting stiffer valve springs to go along with my HKS cam clones, any ideas where to find a good set? I'm going to start with Toysport and Paeco, but I'm afraid to see how much they'd want...Vern

oh, yeah, I forgot to mention... Ever since I installed these cams, I've been getting a clicking sound from the intake cam tower. The car has always had a clicking noise coming from there, and I've always assumed that it was the injectors firing. Now with the new cams, it's worse. You can hear it through the firewall, though it varies in intensity sometimes. It of course also changes tempo with engine RPM.
I'm pretty much guessing that it's one or more of the lifters, but I haven't torn it down again to check. I'm checking on spring prices just in case.
When I replaced the valve cover gaskets a week ago, I checked the cam lobes for wear/damage, and didn't see anything.
I really don't want to tear the cams back out of there, but if that's what's required.... ugh... I guess I'll have to.
Any thoughts?Vern

I remember reading on the Yahoo list that small block chevy springs will work, but I would check it out for yourself.
