different size mkII's?
Hi all, Ronnie here, got someone who has found a way to get me a regulus body kit from japan. Going to cost over $2,000 for the kit and god knows what for shipping it over here. His contact in japan says the U.S. model of the 83 mkII is bigger than the Japan model. Kind of lacking detail I know, but that is all I know so far.
My question, do any of you know of a size difference in the two cars?
To me it would not make sense money wise for toyota to make 2 different size cars of the same model. They'd have to have 2 different molds for everything, not very cost effective to me. So anyway if anybody knows anything about this please let me know. That is a lot of money for it not to fit. I'm seeing if the guy will send the measurements of the kit or of a japanese version of the car. Any info would help me, thanks

The difference that I know which is visual is the rear of the car, the bumper bar skin on the USDM is longer then that of the JDM, Aust. & Euro spec cars. The front you shouldn't have any dramas with. As for the sides of the car and wheel base, they are all the same...
Any correct me if I'm wrong.
Cheers.

The regulus kit is for a L-type MkII like what was sold in Japan. The back bumper is also slightly shorter on non-NA cars as mentioned above
