7M-GTE Supra wins TX2K3 Drag competition
Chris Parvin in his 1985 MKII STREET CAR put all the internet smack
talk to rest, first coming in 2nd place at the TX2K3 Supra Dyno
competition for NON-MKIV cars, putting down 419rwhp. Then today at
the dragstrip he won the NON-MKIV Class dragraces pulling a solid 12.3
@ 123mph with a terrible 60' time of 2.1. Go CHRIS!

Impressive, indeed!
I remember last week on the supras list you asked about the problem with one of the 7mgte's not running right. Which one was it and was this taken care of? If so then what was the problem? Just curious.

No it was still running "ok" when it left for texas, he just used race gas and
upped the boost to make it back to what it was running like with pump gas.
We'll figure out what's wrong with it when he gets back. It was running ok
just not very powerful when he left. It wasn't missing or anything.

Jeff, could it be a bad bov (slight leak)? I wouldn't think that would be it as he would've overspun the turbo. I don't have a clue but maybe the turbo should be checked out (turbo shaft spin freely, etc).
84mkii, Chris was running a 7mgte built by Jeff.

I believe we'll be making a website dedicated to Chris's car when he and
his girlfriend get back. She makes websites.

We pretty much do, Chris raced a guy with a viper, really funny.
Chris "whats the retail on that thing?"
Viper guy "hah, you must be kidding"
Chris "this is a Supra"
Viper "well this isn't the fast and the furious"
Chris "we'll see"
Light turns green, and by the end of 3rd Chris is a car length ahead and
pulling away more and more.
Viper guy doesn't even look over.
We have all SORTS of kill stories like that. And I'm gonna see about
getting better rims and bigger meats on chris's car and start getting it
to hook up better.

Jeff, Thanks for sharing that little story! Since mine's not a daily driver and only drive 50 mi a week (I know, too short and not enuf), I don't get to see how other fast car do compare to mine.
Yeah, Chris need more meat on the rears. I can imagine him dropping into high 11's once the 1st 60' is quick. Come to think of it, I've never drag raced at a track in my life.
