    moulding removal question

    hey all,
just got some new window mouldings and was wondering how to take the old ones off. I'm talking about the lower window mouldings, but would also like to know how to take the top ones off too and the corner ones. i've searched and found some stuff but was looking for clearer instructions on how to take them off so i don't snap anything.
    thanks guys
ps also how does the "windshield louver"? comes off?
ps i also looked at tsrm and don't quite understand it

    Moldings

Can I assume you're talking about the side glass and not the front and rear windscreens? There are no "top" moldings on the side glass that I'm aware of.

The quarter molding comes off by first removing the outside trim between the door and quarter glass (access behind inner trim) and then using soft stuff like piece of wood, push molding forward toward door opening. Rear most quarter window molding is held on by threaded studs/nuts that go thru glass. Access by removing inside trim.

Door window moulding need to have door panels removed first, then look for 3 -4 screws (small) along top of door then find clips that the molding is pushed down into that locks it in place.

The "louvers"?? Do you mean at the base of the windshield? If so you need to remove the wipers first, (duh) and the screws at either end of the side trim which then comes off by sliding up after removing upper corner trim...etc., etc.

Also, most of this has been covered many times here and can be found by using SEARCH

And the "top" ones, commonly called the drip rail mouldings, well, those just sort of "twist" off. Slide the small center piece either way to expose an edge and just using your fingers, pull down and away in a rolling motion and the end will "pop", then continue pulling in the same way moving forward along the roof and down the pillar until you have it all the way off. Same for the rear. Reinstalling is basically reverse of the same motion. Getting these to release sometimes takes well enough force to make your fingers sore, but using any sort of tools for leverage would wind up bending them. Hope that helps.

^ as Phil says for the side, top ones.
Then there is the one on top of door, and also on the bottom of the 1/4 glass.
For the door, you need to remove 2 little metal screws that prevent
    the molding to go up.
There is one near the back end, and another one closer to the mirror.
Then you can with a flat screw driver to enlarge the 4 large clips to release the moulding.
For the lower 1/4 glass, you knd of need to pull the lower part outwards to release the clip. If you remove the B pillar, it helps!

Finally, the 1/4 glass rear corner has studs than goes across the panel, with 2 nuts on the inside.

Refresh my brain (have thought Dr. Dupler has mentioned this in the past).

The quarter window molding (the one on the bottom)., I thought it has been mentioned that the clips on the other side "usually" do break upon removal & it's best to order new replacements??
