You know its funny cuz some 7Ms pass just fine with one cat but others, there is no way in hell one will do. All my tests where @ 14.x to 15.x to one AFs.
Pina what where your AFs ?? do you remember?

Another thing to consider is the internal cleanliness of the engine. I noticed that after a rebuild or a head rebuild that the #s are usually very clean.

More 7mgte numbers:
Bone Stock 7mgte, single aftermarket cat, 8 degrees timing, EGR over ride mod
15 mph HC 176 fail NO 351 pass
25 mph HC 128 fail NO 199 pass
Replaced o2 sensor, was bad
15 mph HC 56 pass NO 259 pass
25 mph HC 35 pass NO 199 pass
Just more information to 7mgte swappers that your car has to work properly to pass in the first place. One would assume had you bought all this that the engine was good. It drove great.Just your average MK2 owner...

On the one I just posted, a stock downpipe with the cat removed, and a single aftermarket cat.
BTW I found that a smaller cat is easier to light up. I just smogged my other daily 7MGTE with a 3" elbow/dp, aftermarket IC, and a 3" cat/exhaust. It just BARELY passed by a hair. It was really difficult to get hot enough. I'll post those numbers shortly.
It seems like I have to smog a different 7mgte every month, so I'm going to keep posting numbers for reference.Just your average MK2 owner...

Sorry for such a long bumb but,
This thread is lacking very important information.
The smog results showing CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) will show you if the catalytic converter is working properly or not. If the CO2 is at 14.5% or higher your cat is running efficiently. If it's like 13% or less it's either not functioning correctly or barely functioning because without a catalytic converter an efficiently running engine will have up to 13% CO2.
For one to determine if your original single cat setup was even working we would need to look at your original smog CO2 numbers.
For the double cat setup, which looks sweet btw, if you didn't buy both of the cats brand new then it's possible that the new cat was doing all the cleaning up.
Get some Jesus!................................................ Sorry that all my links broke!
