Cusco camber top spacer sleeve issue

    Hello,

I'm currently installing cusco camber tops with the stock spring hat, and was wondering whether I should cut the small spacer sleeve that comes with them or not. I've searched the forums a bit, and lots of people seem to report ride height increases after installing them, I think this oversized spacer is the main cause.

The section on the shock that needs to be spaced is only 12mm, while the spacer is 18mm. It doesn't sound like much, but compared to the rest of the thread, the spacer steals 1/3 of the whole thread.

As you can see in this picture, it doesn't look sensible, even though it is inevitable to completely eliminate overlapping thread on the nut, at least half of the wasted thread could be put to use if I cut the spacer down to 12mm. I've pretty much convinced myself this is what I need to do, but I hate taking to things like this with a hacksaw, I usually need a mate to argue with me before I decide it's a good idea or not :P

So yeah, if anyone has installed these with stock spring hats, I'd be very grateful to hear what you did with this situation, if anything. Or anyone who wants to make me feel a bit more confident in taking a hacksaw to the spacer, feel free

    Cheers.

Looks like you got it right. Take out enough of the spacer so that the top nut will not run out of threads and you'll be ok. I ended up shortening the top nut on the bottom side and using a spacer about half of the original size (9mm) to get the strut rod to go up higher so I could still reach the adjuster.

I just cut one of the spacers in 1/2 and used one on each side.

    All done!

I only ended up cutting about 4mm off each spacer, it doesn't sound like much, but at least the whole thread is being put to use now. As you can probably see in the last picture, this has been a fairly worthwile upgrade! The bump-steer I had is completely gone, and the car has stopped veering to the left

    Thanks for the help!
