Bought. New outer barrels, old/new inner barrels. blasted and powder coated faces with new hardware. I'll post up something more detailed in my build thread when they arrive.

Holy Bat S#*T! I loved the '76 GT hatch I owned for a while what seems like a hundred years ago now. I marveled at how smooth it shifted. And it was very comfortable and roomy for a car that size too. This was no doubt a factor in us buying the 85P. The resemblance to a mini Mustang was no accident, no matter what anyone claimed. But in between a zillion muscle cars, it just didn't have enough real grunt for me. If only.....

Way back when I was autocrossing and running my 1973 Trans Am in SCCA Solo events, I had a friend who had MK1 coupe version who ran his car at most of the events I went to.

He did really well, a bit too well, actually, and finally got busted for cheating after several of the guys in his class started giving his car a closer look.

A tape measure revealed he was 1" too low (he blamed "old springs"), the "GM" and a part number stamped into his rims revealed he was using 1/2" wider Corvair rims, a check under the car revealed non stock sway bars, and there were a few other things as well that would have disqualified him from running in the "Stock" class.

I think it was the "GM" stamped into rims that ultimately gave him away. He later said that if he would have smeared a little Bondo into that stamped in "GM" and the part number before he painted the rims, he never would have been caught....

Ain't cheating 'til you're caught. I autoX too but run a pickup truck. The only people who pay any attention to me are the occasional spectators who think it's hilarious. It is hilarious.
