1989 L98 350 230 hp ,,if i do the new update cpu clean up the intake manifold and install a ram air hp goes to 300+

to get 300 you will need more than that unfortunatly. Ive tuned obd1 GMs for about 4 years now. That long runner tpi intake hinders any real hp. Ive seen nice setups choked by even aftermarket tpi style intakes. You will however gain tons of torque. have a look into a modded lt1 intake. That with a good cam will net you some real gains. Add a set of decent heads and you are rolling. Another moderate buck option would be the vortec heads. Im not sure what is available intake wise but I have seen close to 400 (350 and some change whp) from stock castings.
Either way. Looks good.

are you using a TH350/400 for a tranny then? pretty sweet.
