What is the "NSW" and how did you have it wired wrong? I am dealing with some kind of wiring problem with my 2J in my MKIII that seems to be causing the same kind of rev problem. Any help and insight would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!

"NSW" netural start switch
If in doubt, drift her out! Steer from the rear! less traction, more action! simple!

Thanks for clearing that up, but I'm still confused as to how that could be wired wrong, and allow the car to even run. I need to know what what changed to make the car actually rev after being fixed. I'm pulling my hair out over here with the same symptoms!

Ok, i figured out my problems and i finally got it fired up today. I was having trouble with the factory alarm system and that's why it wasn't starting. It wasn't engaging the starter relay. I had to cut the thin red wire from the starter relay and ground it. For the fuel pump, i depinned the circuit opening relay for the 2 wires that switch the fuel pump on, and made a jumper wire for them.

same setup just make sure the NSW is wired in. I haven't updated this for quite sometime. As for the auto stuff everything is controlled VIA the ECU. So just keep all the wiring intact and you'll be ok. Past the wiring I'm not sure what else you'll have to do. If you run into problems just PM/post and we'll try to work it out.

Well followed all the ways thru this guide which was great help... Been tracing a no spark issue. I got reverse lights temp gauge , Check all pins to power ecu and they have correct voltage . Got fuel pump working , got everything but spark. Change ignitor coils wires caps rotors dizzy checked timing . All the common crap still nada but a engine turning over with fuel and all body and dash working .. Do not know if rpms work as it has not fired off yet.. It a 2jge in mx73 .. kinda same as mk2 . using 96sc300 ecu with 94 ,k4 wiring harness

Have you checked to make sure the power source actually has power. I run into similar issue. Mine started and runs but no power to idle air control valve, so it would idle all bouncy like. I double, triple checked wiring and after Leon told me to check if there was power AT the IACV it turned out there was none. The 12v source/wire/plug I used from body of car didn't have powe which i found particularly odd as they all branch from the same main 12v source. Confirmed this by pulling insulation off wires in parted out 6m chassis. So in essence make sure you're getting power from the source you're using for injectors. Good luck.
