These 2.5” Raptor Racing Cat Back Exhaust System comes with Polished Stainless Steel piping. All cat back piping comes with a resonator; plated nuts/bolts/washer; 2.5 torctite clamp and gaskets. You won't have to go to your local muffler shop to install this; it's a bolt in system. Depend on the muffler you order lead time to have the product shipped out ranges from 1 day for cat back piping only to 2 weeks if you need a powder coated muffler. We regularly stock powder coated muffler so this won’t always be a problem but I just want to be clear that if it’s not in stock it takes at least 2 weeks to get the muffler ‘built’ and coated.

These systems is designed for cars that utilize 12.5” cats; if your vehicle uses a 17.5” cat you will HAVE to purchase a 12.5” cat in order to make this system work on your car. In order to keep costs down I will not build separate systems; both have the same mounting point to the header/downpipe so as long as you get/have the appropriate cat/test pipe it's all the same.

Before we set out to have our own cat back systems made for MK2's and MK3's we desperately need a muffler. But not just any muffler; we wanted a muffler that was very period specific: long oval design and twin dual wall tips. Stainless construction was a must as was build quality and manufacturer support.

After months of looking we finally stumbled upon our solution. We always LOVED the look and sound of Magnaflow 14815 and 14816 dual tip mufflers but there was a problem: the input is only 2.25. Hardly doable for turbo application and barely doable for N/A builds. While at our suppliers warehouse we peeked in a box and noticed something unique to these 2 mufflers: twin tubes running the length of the muffler. This means not 1 but 2x2.25" tubes running the length of the muffler extending out to the tips.

Solution: Cut off the 2.25" input at the base; CAREFULLY expand it out to 2.5 or 3 inches; weld in the appropriate section of pipe and BAM: a new muffler is born.

You may think this is a lot of trouble to go through; but when you're as picky as we are it's all in a days work. If you want to for that really old school look at wrinkle black powder coating to your order; TRUST us you won't be sorry.

Please note this muffler was designed to fit the piping for the Raptor Racing Catback systems. While we can guarantee that the hanger is in the correct location we cannot guarantee it will work with any other system.

For those of you not familiar with the concept of divorced downpipes I will explain it briefly. The theory behind this is that by separating the paths for the turbine and wastegate you are creating less turbulence in the elbow region…less turbulence=greater efficiency; greater efficiency=more power…more power=if I have to tell you this please don’t buy this…J/K .

By using a Raptor Racing Divorced Downpipe along with a Raptor Racing Cat back system (with a test pipe); Mike Malloy (owner of www.celicasupra.com ) was able to go from 225rwhp(239lb-ft) with a 'stock' setup to 267rwhp(280lb-ft) on a Mustang Dyno.

If you want to really unleash the beast under the hood a Raptor Racing 6 into 1 is going to best ammunition you can get. Our header is the ONLY 5/6/7 header out there that can claim without a shadow of a doubt a 10rwhp increase.

Raptor Racing wanted to ensure that before we released this header for sale that it would perform as good as it felt. So back in 2006 one of the local clubs had a dyno session, our first thought: "wow…witnesses".

So what we did was Dyno the car with the header, let the car cool off...take off the header and put on the factory manifold and re-dyno. Our thinking from the beginning has been that's it's always best to do testing on the same day in similar conditions. This way you can without any doubt be confident at the results you are claiming.

We'll let the dyno speak for itself; here are the mods on the car at the time of the dyno:

Don’t' let anyone tell you again that a 6 into 1 header will lose power down low. As my good friend Seamus pointed out: "This header gave up nothing to the factory manifold". No expense has been spared when testing/making this manifold. It was installed on our car; driven for over 750miles; dyno tested; given to Dean Anderson to get his approval and it's finally up for sale. If you can find another header that has gone through such rigorous and documented testing that has these results let us know and we'll gladly take down our claim as the ONLY header with a properly documented before and after dyno.

When it comes time to replace your O2 gasket we've got you covered. Our Toyota O2 gasket is a metal gasket that has thick paper in the middle to help with sealing. Why not pick a couple up as you never know when you'll need a spare.

I just got my 7M GTE mk2 running fully yesterday. We modified my DP. I bought the 3" SS Cat Back with the Magnaflow. The exhaust was 100% worth it. I origionally questioned whether it would be easier to get different pieces of pipe and weld them all together or buy 3" SS exhaust from RR and just modify the DP. It took us about an hour to do the exhaust. Took me 10 minute to hang the exhaust from RR. Took 20-30 to mock up how the DP would go. Ok... it took less than an hour. The exhaust sounds awesome. Love it!

First post updated; unfortunately the pricing of the mufflers has gone up on my end. Sorry guys I've been trying to keep that cost down as much as I can but some things are beyond my control.

I had my RR 2.5 Catback w/test pipe installed this past weekend. The system and the muffler looks great. A little loud on the highway (for an old man like me), but the sound around town more than makes up for it. Great product and great service, thanks George.

1st post updated: Ceramic cats have been taken out of my catalog. Stocking Ceramic and Metallic cats in 4 different varieties (MK2 2.5" and 3"; MK3 2.5" and 3") is difficult and hard to keep them all in stock; to simplify things for me the ceramics have been taken out of the catalog. If someone seriously wants one I can still get it made but pricing wont' be the same as before as making them one at a time vs. 5 at a time is more costly.
