gas tank
Has anyone installed a fuel cell in a 85supra? if u have can u give me a price and info on how u installed it thanks for any help!!

Is fuel cell is the same as fuel tank ?
If so, I don't have a web site to help you, but I know
some refurbished one are available is specilized on the subject shop.
I replaced one about 8 years ago, for 120$Cdn. Guaranted for the

hope that helps, I'm making this up as I go lol. Fuel cells are gast tanks, usually used for racing applications as they are much safer should an accident occur. In an impact they are less likely to leak fuel or catch fire. Most racing associations including drag racing and road racing require fuel cells. the standard ones are square and I am pretty sure they must be painted red as well. You will often see them in trunks of vehicles but I am pretty sure they can be mounted anywhere. Different sizes are available for different applications and for certain racing applications, small sizes may be required (eg. milk carton sized ones for drag racing)

um, batmobile, that was about the most retarded thing ive read on the forums in months.
basically theyre double walled, foam filled gas tanks, usually with a speed fill nozzle.
i think summit could give you a price range, and basically you just use some straps similar to the ones that mount a stock gas tank, and bolt it to reinforced positions in the floor.
last time i read the regs, fuel cells cannot be mounted under the vehicle and had to be mounted a certain way for each sanctioning body.
most race sanctioning bodies include fuel cell mounting in their rulebooks, perhaps you would do well to read some of the online versions, and get the legal specs you would need to run the types of races you want to compete in.- the Bentley Continental GT...at 1600 rpm it makes more torque than an entire production run of hondas

Thanks, anyways now that i have bashed the newbie, I will answer your question.
I dont know of anyone that has installed one.
Fuel cells are reliable if hooked up right.
There will be more pressure if hooked up above the old tank.
They may hold less, but in racing conditions this is good, less weight faster acceleration.
They can be bought in aluminum which is a very lightweight metal.
They look cool.
They are a good replacement of the old stock tank.
Easier to remove than the old tank.
Well hats off to ya if you decide to go that route. That would be cool if you do decide to switch tanks. If you could take pics of you doing it along the way as sort of a how to, that would be awesome.
