Quick Help, testing oil pressure sending unit?

How do I test this? nothing in the TSRM or repair manual. Dont want to just assume the sending unit is bad and keep running the car..

swapped 2 gauge clusters and neither worked.

I think I remember seeing something about a recall on that. might be wrong but worth looking into.

maybe is just bad, if is not the gauges, could be wiring or the sending unit itself.

Its in the wiring somewhere...2 gauge clusters and 2 sending units (one out of my 85 that is known working).

Im not gonna chase the wiring...aftermarket gauges it is!

Might be a longshot.....perhaps stick a voltmeter on the the end of the sending units and rev. The voltage signal should change....???

Voltage changes, Im assuming sender is OK. Probably indicates bad wiring or cluster.

The pressure sending unit is actually the ground side of the circuit.

12v pos. on the back of the cluster, ground circuit ran to cluster from sender. More pressure= less resistance, makes the gauge go up.
