Anyway, enough of the derailing, I laughed at the proud of boxer on the ass.

The BRZ and FR-S are going to weigh in around 2600 lbs. That's ~500 lbs less than a MK2. Let's hope it is.

I hope they don't chunk up. Low weight will be the saving grace IMO.

It was 2700 something. That might be a dry weight too, but it will be at east 2-300 lbs lighter then a mk2. The power to weight ratio is pretty good. There's some first drive articles in the new mags on stands right now, they all seem pretty happy with the acceleration.

I don't think the acceleration will be a problem. It has the same numbers as a S13 240 with an SR20DET swap. People love those cars.

And this car is *inspired* by the AE86, which is a slow slow car but all about handling. I'm sure people will buy it. And if it does really well, I'm sure other car companies will make cars to rival it. Chevy already has a concept that looks like it might be trying to compete against the FR-S. Code 130 R or something like that.

    Thank you for the link.

I'm really looking forward to seeing an affordable small sporty rear wheel drive car from Japan. Something that can be driven every day with good reliability and have good upgrade potential too.

Well they're certainly thinking of that. I can't remember if its been mentioned in this thread already yet, but thats the whole point of the duel fuel injection system. It has direct injection as well as traditional port injection. IOW they made sure to add traditional injectors so the aftermarket could upgrade them for forced induction.

The concept car didn't look enough like a catfish to satisfy Toyota.
