Attention San Diego members! Sorry CS, I should have listened to you...
Hey all,
So if anyone remembers, I bought a carbon fiber vented hood from Nightrider760 late last year. I bought it on impulse. After I had sent the money, Nightrider760 told me to talk to the shop that made the hood. So my communication was solely with the shop. After a few months of dealing with this shop(I think it's one guy), the hood finally ships. I receive the hood, but it was packed poorly and was damaged. I sold that hood and talked to the company about buying a new one.
The guy claims to have made another one and asks me to pay for it. After receiving pictures of the "new" hood, he asks me to pay for it and I do. A couple days later, he asks for even more money because it's a new shipping company. So I pay because this guy is keeping up a good line of communication. For months, we had a back and forth that went like this. (The following are not the exact conversations, but the gist of how they went)
Me: Any status on the hood?
Guy: It should be at your house by now...I will check the warehouse and let you know.
No response for a few days. I email again.
Me: Any status on the hood?
Guy: This is frustrating! I will find out what is going on for you. I have never shipped with this company before. The hood is my responsibility until it is in your possession. I will take care of this!
This went on a few more times. Every time, he reassured me that things were going to be ok. A couple weeks later, I still don't have the "new" hood.
I asked him for a refund for all of this because at this point, I don't even want the hood. He replies that he made a 3rd hood and will be shipping that out because he "has no idea what happened to the last hood!"
So I wait...Still no hood. I filed a Paypal complaint for the 2 separate payments I sent to him about a couple weeks ago. I have not heard from him since the "3rd hood" was shipped.
I know it's possible that something horrible may have happened to this guy. Maybe his shop closed down because he wasn't making any money? Who knows...I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I got to stop doing this lol!
So I'm asking any San Diego members if they have nothing to do and are bored...Please help me out and visit this guys' shop and let me know if he is still in business or if the company is closed down. I'd at least like some closure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Andrew,
That really blows man. I wanted that hood soooo badly.. I read that thread a couple of times. We gave that dude the benifit of the doubt on more than a few occations. It really sucks to hear that it didn't work out like we had all hoped. Is that nightrider guy banned yet or what?

Yeah, nightrider was banned. He was hoping the transaction would go smoothly to cleanse his name. I was hoping so too.
The hood was well constructed, so it truly is a shame...

You have a big set to man up and say this. I commend you for that. Trust your spidey senses from now on. You dont have to be the good guy giving people the benefit of the doubt, especially via email and the internet. Face to face...maybe.
also, I google mapped that address via satellite view, there is nothing there..just wide open empty lots.FOR SALE $20k AND SHE IS YOURS.

So Paypal denied my claim because I filed complaints over 45 days after payment...Customer service is only a robot...I wish to talk to a live person, but I can't find a number.
This guy needs to be taught a lesson....

Does anyone know a direct way to contact an actual person at Paypal? I keep emailing them and all I get is an automated response. I have received the same message 3 times. Telling me to contact the seller to deal with him. I always reply and say he doesn't reply my messages or answer my calls. Then I get the same automated message telling me to do the same thing. This is frustrating!

If you email them something other than "Hi, I know your policy is 45 days, but it's been months since I sent this guy money and I need you to do something about it now." you will likely get a real response.
...otherwise, enjoy the robot.

Still no luck. Paypal keeps sending me the SAME automated response just from different "people".
I can't believe no one local to this guy wants to help me.
