Thread: Rce311's 7mgte build/swap

Excellent! I just hope the machine shop doesn't mix up my pistons as far as what cylinder they go to.
Im hoping that my gasket set shows up in time with the head gasket and I can get the rod bearings easily enough. Looks like I got only a week to get this stuff if I wanna have a build party around the autofair.
I THINK all I lack IS the bearings as far as parts ordered. Just waiting on shipping.84 supra 7mgte 57trim, mostly stock...for now...

Should be picking my motor up from the machine shop in the next 2 days. Headgasket, boost controller and turbo lines from aaron showed up yesterday (A+ on the fast shipping on that!) And gasket set from mark sherman should be here soon!
Once the motor is here, ill start posting up pics of all the goodies! Maybe ill get some more responses then.
Hope im close to the build/plug/play portion of the swap, cause I think i've got about $700 left in the budget for bearings, rings, turbo, and misc, before I have to start selling other prized possessions; ie: tools and guns.84 supra 7mgte 57trim, mostly stock...for now...

Update: started putting the rotating assembly together. Crank went in fine, but pistons 2 and don't feel right. #2's plastigauge reading was within spec, but seemed a bit looser than it should be and #3 came in almost 2xs as tight as it should be. So I stopped for the day.
I sized my bearing according to the tsrm so maybe I can just swap the 2 bearings in #2 and #3? Any ideas?84 supra 7mgte 57trim, mostly stock...for now...

UPDATE: rotating assembly is together, finally. With the crank pulley in place, the bottom end can be turned by hand. (2 hands on the crank) needing to find some garage space now to finish the build, since the motor is getting too heavy to move in and out of the back of my suburban to work on it.
Once I get some space, ill bolt up the head, and start on the accessories.
I would post pics but im limited to smartphone internet access and I cannot post pics.84 supra 7mgte 57trim, mostly stock...for now...

Thanks, but no, I got one from ihateu3. I do however still need a plastic cam position sensor cover, and a conical filter adapter that bolts up to the AFM.

Turning the crank with 2 hands, that's about correct right? It feels as tight as it was when I got the motor. I haven't gottten any input on this.

Now that I have some pics posted, and I finally figured out how to do it with my phone, and can post more, maybe I can get some more reponses and feedback on this build.
