Fun videos. I'm seen 3x Toyota Sports 800s, have yet to sight a 2000GT - know there is one that circulates among the Vancouver BC area Toyota dealerships - need to make the 5 hour journey (plus immigration and customs enforcement).

This photo of a 2000Gt got me looking for a Toy.

After seeing the 4-m motor shown in the first video, the SOHC 2000 liter IL-6, I need to check the numbers on my 4-m crate motor I've been sitting on for about ten years.

I bought it from a man that had been holding on to it for more than ten years himself.
He said it was bought in the late 1980s (1988 he thought) for his 1978 Cressida.
He told me his '78 Cressida took a later model production year motor, so he didn't use this one.
It was ordered by his friend from a Toyota dealership, employee discount.
Told him it was all they had available and was old-stock, in-house & "a steal" (under $500).
It has a different style valve cover on it, looks like the cover on the video motor.
Now I have to open the crate and get a better look at the casting numbers.
Then search for the history of the block numbers stamped on it.

Great info and video....I lived in Japan when I was little due to father being in the air force....early 70's...the cars were cool back then from what I remember and the toys and electronics were so advanced....I remember coming back to the states and it was like we were decades behind.
