Parking Break
Hello to all. My friend told me to check out this site. I have a 1985 MKII and I am fixing it up. Does any body know where I can get the parking break parts? All 3 cables are rusted, the shoes and all the internals to the shoes are gone so I need a whole new parking break system. Should be fun

Rock Auto.com will probably have them.

Actually auto zone/o Reilly's has a good amount of Brake parts listed also.
Rock auto is good for hard to find things. But they kill you on shipping.Matt K.

Billy M gave me a great diagram in here. Once you get the parts it may help you. Which reminds me I gotta get on top of this, my e brake is driving me nuts!

Are you in Aurora IL? If so, there is an '85' in the Pick-N-Pull yard in Summit, near MDW airport. Saw it there on Saturday. Body is beat up, but you may find some of your brake parts there?

No, I am in Aurora Ontario. Amazon has the calbes and rock auto has the drum kit. If I bring my car to the US what is the cost per hour for a decent mechanic?

Any local mechanic should have no problem. That stuff is all universal. Heck Napa should have all the stuff...
