    W58 from an mk4 2JZ-GE

I was wondering if anyone knows if a W58 from a 2JZ-GE will fit our cars? My friend is selling one for 200$ and I was thinking about buying it if it fits, and im guessing i would have to use my bell housing which isnt a big deal but just thought I would ask to see if anyone has done this.

Bellhousing and shifter extension require swap.

Keep in mind, you can get damn near $200 for the W58 to JZ bellhousing alone! They are not very common and are sought out for swaps.

I thought even 2JZ's W58s are weak after like 250 WHP?

lol weak after 250 whp? w58s breaking point is right around 400 hp, and even then you can still keep it together if you don't beat on it all the time. I know several people running w58's in 5mgte/7mgte/2jzge<NA-T> and even 1uzs.

Interesting. I didn't know the numbers behind it...Just a couple of people I know ran W58s with 7MGTEs with 250-300 whp. Blew them up within a month.

I have ran in the 12's with my w58, and its still the original in the car with 168k miles, I just put down 390 hp and 415 tq with my 2jz. Lee_ma61 has only blown up 3 of them at around 800 HP lol. No argument on what tranny is better, but considering the w58 is cheap as shit and easy to swap, I am just gonna run mine till it dies (going on 2 yrs now of 300+hp) then buy another one and swap it in. And the reason that bellhousing commands money like that is because of poor people like me who cannot afford the R154 and already have the w58, the 2JZGE to W58 flywheels pull a pretty penny also since they are needed for the swap.
