what size exhaust pipe should I run and also what muffler will give me a inline 6 growl

id start with getting a pair of headers. then work your way back. but dont be like me and only half ass it.

No you want it loud trust us. Pacesetter header 2.5 pipes. Talk to our vendors.

What Scottevil said, Pacesetter header, 2.5" pipe all the way, and if you want it to sound good but not be real loud use a turbo muffler (my preference), or if you want it loud Magnaflow will do the trick. If you are running a converter get a good free flowing one, if not use a 12" glasspack in that location as a resonator. You will be happy.

It's not a V6 or V8 or V12, this inline 6 has one bank, you don't need a pair. Yes I am picking nits. I have a tendency to do that when I see a new thread that asks the same old question as several hundred others. Use search - I typed in exhaust and came up with pages and pages of threads that talk of the same thing. Of course you have to look at the titles of all these threads that come up in search that can be very ambiguous, for example 'exhaust help'.

2.5" will work well for you. The Magnaflow is loud, for sure. Here are some of my offerings:
