Lots of people here recommend 2.25" or 2.5".
Here's another option: http://www.celicasupra.com/forums/sh...oducts-Catalog
When you use Search, after you type in your Keyword(s), change the option to "Search Titles Only" then it will only search for Thread Titles instead of posts.

Hi everyone!
I am also trying to decide what exhaust to install on my stock 1984 5mge. And I was curious if anyone would know what it would sound like with a HKS muffler on it? I'm thinking a hi-flow cat, 2.5" pipe, with a "HKS Hi-power Universal Muffler".
I'm an old Subaru guy, so I like an exhaust note with alittle deeper rumble. But when I step on the gas, I want my P-type to get nice and loud. Without sounding like "Lawnmower-honda-riceburning" crap!
I do like the look of a 2.5" from Rabid Chimp, I'm just not convinced yet.
Thank you scottevil for the youtube vids, those were very helpful!

CheapDate..if you want loud, the Magnaflow I offer with my system will do the job for you. It doesn't sound ricey, because you've got a couple of extra cylinders.
