    mr2 agx vs supra gr2

So my kyb agx's I bought from george at raptor racing are completely blown but what I was thinking is they blew cause mr2's are alot lighter so they dont have the right valving for our cars. Not positive thats why they blew but just a thought. My ultimate question is what do you think would be better for track/auto-x/drifting kyb agx's for the mr2 or kyb gr2's for the supra's. The reason I bought the agx's in the first place is because my car is lowered and the mr2 struts are shorter so I thought that would help with that issue. Or I might have received a bad set which happens and I really dont care, but just looking for opions on this. Kyb gr2 for supras or agx's for mr2's? Just hate buying and regreting ya know but thanks in advance guys!

Talk to kyb, they usually rebuild their products for the cost of shipping.

Not enough info-Coilovers, or stock setup? Spring rates? Driving style/frequency? Example-I got about a year out of a set of AGXs with a 550# coilover aggressively driven/multiple track day daily driven setup-I ve been getting 2 years from a 400# aggressively driven daily driven setup-Most folks report you get LESS mileage from GR-2s, my experience says the same. There is a tradeoff for more aggressive dampning, you know..Most of us running Agxs just turn up the dampening as the strut insert ages..

Or do what i did and make it shit hot with some 2nd hand branded coilovers from a Nissan 240sx hatchback and Make/ buy some sleeves to weld on the spindles. I don't know why everyone is so scared to do it really?! Full damper travel at any given ride height is about the best you could ever hope for and it's soo bloody easy to do.

I used the rears too, but retained the stock rear spring position for various reasons.

From a recent 1700 miles of thrashing the absolute nuts off my car i can say, a decent set of coilovers and whiteline adj anti rollbars with some sticky tyres produce mind warpingly amazing handling on our old supra's.

Yeah I have the budget coilover kit that im pretty sure came with the 550 lb springs in the front and its pretty low also compared to stock that is. I think what im going to try is buy the cheapest struts i can find just to hold the place of my agx's and send them off to be rebuilt and also buy the strut tube spacers from george at raptor racing and i think it should do quite well I will let ya all know once its all done

+1 on AGXs and strut tube spacers. This is by far the best solution.

Dont you have to redrill the strut towers to use the S13 camber plates?

Nah, they bolt straight in on the pcd, but they are about 30 degrees off horizontal if you want camber adjustment only. otherwise castor increases at the same time. so then you would have to redrill your towers. the wheel does respond faster with a bit more castor though, so up to you on how you want the car set up.
