    I'm Getting Old.

I'm pushing 54, there is no more denying the fact. Yesterday I went to a pick-a-part to pull a 2JZ oil pan and some other stuff for my swap I'm starting. Five hours in the heat (jerks didn't open until 9:00) and I was spent (ever pull a Lexus GS oil pan with the engine in the car? A nightmare).

I went home and did I go out and spend the rest of the afternoon working on my Supra? No, it was shower, a/c and reclliner. I still feel good and in good health, but the facts are the facts. Maybe I'm depressed because my birthday is this month and I just attended my uncle's funeral. Maybe I need to pay more attention to those Ageless Male testosterone suppliments? :-) You know, the pills that can make me 25 again?

well im 30 and im in the same boat. that would have made me lay in bed the rest of the day. then again my back is still jacked up from getting tboned last year. sucks. some days i feel lik im doin better. then other, i twist a certain way and it practically cripples me. i havent even put my 2jzgte on an engine stand. bought it a year ago. been sitting on the floor where it was when i started it to test it out. havent pulled the trans or anything else.

I know what you mean man... I'm 35... I swear I was 25 just like a couple of months ago.

What gets me is being bent over an engine bay for a long time. My lower back almost freezes in the position and it's hard to stand up straight afterward for a little while.

I think the biggest difference between being/feeling young and my age is lifestyle. I have spent a LOT of time sitting at a desk the last few years. Doing IT work 50 hrs per week while studying for business grad school for two years, now studying for an engineering degree while working... all that time physically idle it kills a person strength and endurance. If I were to be biking several miles per week on the trails in the valley near here, jogging on the track around the lake, playing ultimate frisbee, going to the gym, etc like I used to I think I'd still feel about like I used to.

I'm 21 :/. I can't complain about much . Though when I lean over an engine bay for a long time with my legs straight, they get stiff and hard to bend... I can't stand it (pun intended :P ).

I'm 38 and sit at a desk 9 to 12 hours a day with 2+ hr drive each day... I am feeling better since I started working out a bit. I have lost over 65 pounds

I'm back around 215 and feel my "old" self again. Yes, just had to brag a bit.

im 22 and the heat crushes me. i might not have made it 5 hours. and i had my 2j sitting on the floor for almost 2 years and finally got it on a stand just a couple weeks ago. its a good thing to take your time with. make sure every step is done right. and if im leaning over to work on somthing? pretty much crippled for atleast 30 minutes. id say you aint doin too bad. how did you find a gs at pullapart? i never see any lexus's in there ever.

i just got lucky on finding the Lexus GS, it obviously hadn't been there long, only some interior parts were gone. The engine bay was completely intact. I go there every so often to see what's in the yard, I went at the beginning of the week taking a longshot to see if I could match up an alternator. They alway have a couple of 1UZs there, but this was a real find. I grabbed the ignitor as I didn't have much time or heavy tools and shut the hood and vowed to go back Thursday. I was kind of anxious all day Wednesdayas I was afraid someone would beat me to it, and I knew it wouldn't last long. When I showed up yesterday morning at opening time the hood was up and my heart sank. Luckily everything was still there so I went to town on puling stuff. I got the AFM, throttle body, coil, O2 sensors, and a few other small items. That was easy, the oil pan was rough, I never want to do that again with the engine in the car. I'm tempted to go back next week and pull the non VVTi head if it cools off.

You guys made me feel better about my age, I'm gratefull I'm able to do the things I enjoy. I run into old classmates and wonder what happened to them, they look so old. And I think about my poor grandpa that died at 56 an old and crippled man, God bless his soul. I try to be thankful every day for the things I have.
