CARB Legal intake solution?
Hey everyone; I've done a lot of google-fu, as well as prowling JNC and Club 4AG and have yet to find a solution to this:
I have a 1985 Cressida with a 5M-GE, and while doing the plugs, I found the intake hose is torn between the resonator and the throttle body. I figure if I have to replace the intake, I might as well upgrade, so are there any CA smog-legal intakes for the MKII that'll also work with my MX72? The weirdly shaped MAF sensor looks like the biggest hurdle to overcome when fitting one.
Any experience or help you guys could share would be hugely appreciated!

Short answer No...long answer if you find an intake off another vehicle with an E/O number then you would meet the spirit of the law...but smogging it at a Smog Check II station probably wouldnt pass the visual inspection...IMO.
I usually "cough cough" take my RC intake and piping on and off for smog tests...Now that being said I am an old guy...Regards,
