    Night Fury build and beautify

So as a lot of you know, I've been looking for a car. Well I bought Bob's (Talksoup) light blue 84. It runs great, is a freeway flier and looks awesome.
Things on the fix it list:
    • Passenger door doesn't open from the outside. I'm hoping it just popped off and I can put it back together, but if not I'll replace it.
    • The headlights don't pop up on their own, I believe I have it tracked down to the relay that connects to the positive terminal on the battery, as I tried the fuse in the fuse box, on the passenger inner fender, and in the kick panel. Hopefully it's a simple switch from my 85 and they'll work.
    • When I hit high rpm's in boost, 5500k + the alternator light comes on. I think it's the belt slipping, and I'll check if it just needs to be tightened, or if the belt looks worn. Turbo car's are a new world for me so this is a steep learning curve. Any ideas here would be helpful as beyond that I'm clueless.
    • Recirc the bov, as if I let off the gas in gear and shift to neutral, the car dies. I've learned to baby it and keep it in gear as I roll to a stop. But, it sure is irritating. Bob didn't think that was the problem, but it's an easy solution if that ends up fixing it.
    • Paint the front bumper, and rear sunshade. Both are faded or peeling and don't fit with the rest of the car. I may convert the hatch to an 85 though as I have a rust free one here prepped for paint and prefer the 85+ look.
    • Transfer all my suspension from the 85 shell to this car. That entails pretty much everything George sells. It's all done, I just have to move it over from one car to the other.
    • Detail the paint and interior, as they're in very good shape, just need a good cleaning.

That's that. I hope to get the detailing, door, and headlights fixed tomorrow. The rest will wait till my next day off.

This car is a blast to drive and blows the doors off everything around it so far. It handles well, but will be a whole new car once I get the other suspension and bushings on it.

Any idea on the alternator light, Billy? Belt isn't loose.

If it isn't the belt, then it's the voltage regulator.

...I'd try another alternator and see if it resolves.

Austin, as Bob may, or may not have told you, I had this car for awhile while he was in Alaska. Some ideas for you on fixes for issues you posted: Lights. I replaced both the underdash relay/control box, and the fender mounted relay with known good pieces. Go ahead and try the relay swap again, its easy and cant hurt, but Id suggest doing the tsrm checks at the fender relay also. I suspect their may be a power feed wire issue, or a switch issue. Door. Bob had mentioned to me he knew the switch piece had fallen off. Dying at idle-Ive always felt this was the BOV, although Bob says it didnt have this issue at first, after we swapped it. I was able to make this better than it was while I had it by using the SAFC Decel-Air settings. Check an on-line SAFC manual for how to input new settings. Alternator-I also thought this was belt, but belt is new, and as tight as I could get it. . Have alt tested-I see Billy beat me to it. Any questions you have about anything, , feel free to PM me.

Have alt tested-possibly its marginal also. Any questions you have about anything , feel free to PM me.
The headlights are going to have to wait. I'm recirculating the bov Monday at the shop. The clip for the door is broken, and of course, I cannot find my spare passenger side door handle, only the drivers side. Of course they aren't interchangeable so I'm stuck, as no local upullit's have a supra. 5 hours later and I've accomplished nothing.

So yesterday, I took the car to the local burger joint and when I came back out, it wouldn't start. After digging around, we noticed I wasn't getting any fuel pressure. The radio, safc, and lights wouldn't come on either. Car would turn over, but never start. Loaded it onto a trailer and took it home. Had my mechanic neighbor do some digging around and he pulled the fusible link that attaches right at the positive side battery. It had gotten hot and burnt up. Replaced that and all was well. I was hoping since that was obviously faulty, it would fix my headlights, but no such luck.
