jdm engine harnest
hi,do any one of you guys have this probem with a japanese swap , i got a japanese 7mgte with every thing on it, to put in my 1985 mk2 supra, but the japanese drive on the right side there for the ecu is on the left side, every thing is on the opposit side the harnest seams too short. do any one have a solution to this other than taking of the dash and finding a spot for the ecu.... thanks .

This is obviously a common problem when importing a motor and there are a couple of solutions. You'll most likely want your ecu to mount where your stock 5mge ecu was. If I was in this situation I would probably look into using USDM electronics if possible. The next thing I would consider is mounting the ecu somewhere else and leaving the harness alone. And then the next thing after that I would consider lengthening the harness (cutting and soldering each wire).
IMO, using stock 7mgte USDM electronics would result in piece of mind, time saved, and money saved.
Also... why is this in the suggestion box area?

Use a US harness.

Just start a new thread 7MGTE harness wanted.
I don't think it would be a good idea to make another hole in the firewall.RIP Les Grover
