My 1983 has about 108, 000 miles and I recently encountered the same problem. I purchased some Marvel Mystery oil at a local auto parts store, and I drained a little over a quart of oil and topped it off with the Mystery oil treatment so far no more lifter "tapping".

Marvel Mystery Oil is the standard first thing to try. Many people have used it with success on this forum.
