    k.g.83 sayin hi from WA

im new to this site but ive had my fair share of yotas in my day... i currently own two celica/supras, one 82, one 83... both really straight bodied.. (cept the 82 has a flair on the passenger side, and no other ones ..) both dont run right now and im really wondering what to do about it... the #3 cam berring housing on the 83 cam broke and flew around in the housing for 4 days till i took the covers off.. (it ran really rough... but ran) and im wondering if i should change the cam housings from my 82 onto my 83?? all four cams look really warn down tho... im wondering if i should juss try to sell the 82... and both motors (5mge)... honestly i really want a 1 or 2 jz... not built just a good reliable good output motor... any advice i can get will really help... i will be uploading a few pics here prolly tomorrow or so... thanks

    kyle.

    p.s. plz help me!!!

Finding parts for it is not too hard to find if you do not mind making a drive since there are probably about 30 members near you and within a 150 mile radius of you.

okay cool.. ya i would like to meet some members of this club... is there any gatherings close by the tri-cities?

i came to the conclusion that imma put my 82 back together and drive it.. and put the 83 in the shop and get it ready to drop a 1jz/2jz.... imma have to wait till tax return to do so but i think it will be worth it... anyone who has already done it plz send me links.... thanks

I'm in the dry-cities every month, next trip ~Aug 27-30 in my 83 (West Pasco/Riverside). Zero gatherings there since 2007, though the MK III crowd keeps talking about planning a meet some fall there. However, it looks looks like the 2013 Supra Nationals will be in Boise. One2spooku is in West Richland, 85 with a 7MGTE. Talksoup is from the area, but is now in Anchorage. A few folks in Spokane. And some real cherry cars in garages that aren't on this forum. The big Supra events in the PNW the past couple of years are the April-May Centralia Meet, and the rotating location PNW Nationals July-August

If you look at my sig, you'll see the PNW list of events. Next Saturday I'm having my MK II Supra BBQ in Tacoma after the LeMay car show.

Since you have an 82, you need to download the 82-unique manuals from Sowsley's Sig. And if you have an engine issue make sure you state 82 - very different from 83-6, vacuum lines from hell.

On cams, one of the top cam companies in the country is in Tacoma - Delta Cams.
    84P - Primer (faded Lt Blue Metallic) - bought March 5, 1984
83P Auto Daily Driver - Gunmetal Grey - acquired Nov 2007 - Recovered from the dead
    82L White - ~44,000 miles Garage Queen
    Original Owners List
Under 100K Miles List (starts post 25 - can't update at present)
    2012 PNW Supra Events List
