Hello from BC!
Hello! I always browsed the website but finally decided to make an account! I own a 82 Terracotta Supra (L-Type?). It's my first car and i think there wicked little cars. I had a few problems with it since ive got it (radiators, random issues etc) but overall its been not a bad car. I would go drifting so maybe that doesnt help the situation but i would take it easier on it then other kids around here in their cars.... Since i got the car i replaced the front bumper with the newer style (84-86.5 Years) with the wrap around turn signals and re-painted it black along with the rear bumper and hatch. Didnt clearcoat it so its not looking the best after the sun has destroyed its look basically! The car i think sat for 5 years or something so its been driving around for a little bit until now. The engine im pretty sure blew a headgasket so im needing to replace that and the heads might be warped but im not sure. I scored on another parts supra for $200 and the engine might just work in that so hopefully i can do the engine swap then fix the current engine later! Anyways im going to try and throw up some pics of it. Missing it not being driveable haha.

You just missed the annual Vernon BC meet of Celicas and Supras. There are a few folks in your area. If you go to member list, then search, then advanced - you can put in Kelowna and BC into the location field.
Nice looking car. Yes, L-type (but the Canadian specs were different from the US spec - check your data plate on the firewall). Auto or manual? I'd do a compression test. It is easy, instructions and specs are in the TSRM. Warped heads are rare in the 5MGE (compared to the 7MGE). Head bolts can be reused but I recommend retapping the bolt holes and run a die on the bolts (10MM Allen) and torque to 65-70ft-lbs (not factory spec of 58).
Since you have an 82, see my sig for the 82-unique vacuum line diagrams (just added the link to my sig), and Sowsley's sig for the 82 manuals.84P - Primer (faded Lt Blue Metallic) - bought March 5, 1984

JTWHR- Hey! Yeah i remember that! I always wondered what your white supra looked like and now i saw it, nice! Who knows maybe when i get both engines out of the two supra's then i could give you an alt. Thanks! Rich64N- Oh really, damn wish i could have made that! Yeah i figured it was a L-Type but at first i wasnt sure because everything else seemed different. It is a 5 speed, i will definetly get around to doing a compression test for sure. Thanks for all the info!

welcome to the forum! I used to live in kelowna beore i moved up to Fort St. John for work. there are some really great roads in that area for some "spirited driving" just outside of town. Good luck with the car. a well maintained MkII will be fun and reliable.

@stealth 5mge- Yeah there are definetly some great roads to drive on here for sure for drifting or even just takin it easy. Westside road is a nice drive but you definetly gotta look out for bad drivers that almost come into your lane...
@JTWHR- The engine is the standard supra engine 5MGE, thanks for the offer!
