Hello from New Mexico
hey my name is gabe, i drift a 1982 Celica gt and i live in Las Cruces nm. I was pointed in this direction when i decided i should look for a mk1 supra rear end to swap with my 6.7 inch, its a direct bolt on! and I decided id post in this section because I also do have quite a fancy for celica supras. Id be putting my money on one of those had i gotten it first. One of these days... but anyways, to tell you about my car is to tell about myself I guess? start with the worst. I have been fired and re hired places often until recently so i hadnt put 100 percent into my 3 year old ongoing project haha and i have barely hit the surface. To start, im running tokico illumina shocks in the front and blues in the rear, on cut springs all the way to the bump stops haha. Not good. alignment problems after i swapped the power steering rack. rear drum brakes. zero interior except dash and stock front seats. removed rear bumper. brown doors and right fender because of previous drivers accidents that i replaced. dented quarter panel on the right and small dents on and around the trunk area. Now on to the good... I love my car despite these ... characteristics. konig rewind wheels on 205/50/15, crap drift wheels. and my favorites, celica supra oem wheels for when i want to cruise it and when i have to use it as my daily driver... like right now because my civic got the honda virus haha. 20r head on a 22r bottom end, rebuilt with oversized valves and ported intake and exhaust ports, full 2.5 inch exhaust obx header and some crappy but deceivingly good sounding and flowing straight through muffler, 9 lb flywheel, a stock cam and dual weber 40mm dcoe weber carbs with the venturi's removed. I welded my differential with the stock gearing about 2 years ago, its rough on the tires on times like now when i have to drive it daily... its the most reliable car ive ever had haha. She BARELY runs but she never stops.... haha. Considering how slow my car used to be when i bought it all oem stock parts with a blown slave cyl haha. drove it home in second gear. anyways... my plans for the future are well in mind. Ive got alot of parts prepared to adapt the 20r head to efi and use an hx30 turbo boosting 15lb (thats my goal atleast for my first tuning session) of course with a larger cam bringing the powerband from 6k to 8 and 1/2 ideally. but after all of those powerband changes... im going to need a better suiting gearset and axle! so thats where i am at now. I need a 7.5 axle from a mk1 supra. But i also love celica supras, all of them. yep
