    New from Houston

I'm the third owner of an '83, and have spent almost the purchase price of owner #2 (who bought it when was two years old) on having rocker panel and fender well rust cut out and replaced w/ new metal and paint; fluids flushed/ replaced; leaky valves replaced; aftermarket radiator replaced (original was cracked), new tires, new brake system. Must be a labor of love, right? Still to go: replace A/C unit; fix the broken gadget in the sunroof (TRIES to open and close but won't) and the broken right side-view mirror adjuster.

139 K miles, and it feels like it will have cost me 139K before I'm finished! Can't do my own work on it, so mechanics love seeing me drive in. Motor and automatic transmission didn't need anything else done. Yeah, it's got that awful red interior but it's in great shape overall.

    Wish me luck, y'all. JKS

Yeah, I know that, but it's the dealer so 'mechanics' is still sort of plural. I really need to find a local that's trustworthy. It was the rust abatement that really cost a pile.

Welcome. Good to know there is another mk2 Supra being taken care of in Texas even if it is a couple hundred miles away. Definitely a labor of love to restore one. A Corvette or Mustang would be much, much easier and actually worth something when finished, so yes, we must be crazy.

OK, I not only found some photos on the computer, I figured out how to upload them. I THINK I made the album visible to all. Yours looks so good, I guess I guess I'll have to break down and put an updated paint job on mine.
