Different types of engine swaps
Hey everyone I'm new to the supra scene and was wondering what engine swaps are available with the least amount of modifications needed, meaning no cutting into the frame or major like that. Any bolt-on? I'm interested in 4 cyl engines too. Please any insight will help. Oh and i have an 84 supra. Thanks.

7mgte is probably the easiest. 2jzgte is quite popular but costs a lot more. 1uzfe takes a little cutting.
Personally, i would like to see an LS7 one of these days....
Read GrassHopper! these swaps are documented! (other than the ls7 ofcourse...)
Dont forget to use the search bar. it works here. The Supra is gone... What a fun project!

Yep. Welcome to the forum. All the info is here. Check the stickies in the engine swap and turbo sub forums. You'll find everything you're looking for.

Couldn't agree more, the search button is your best friend. Easiest would be the 6M swap, similar to the 5M, but has more displacement( 2.8 vs 3.0) also why are you interested in 4 cylinders for a supra? They come with an inline-6 stock.

6m - good - drop in + wiring
7m - better - drop in + wiring
1j - odd ball - drop in + wiring
2jz - best - drop in + wiring

Thanks everyone. I was considering a 4 cyl mainly for gas saving purposes but I'm not sure yet. So the b18 vtec is a viable swap? I'm going to do a search but has it been done before?

Was a joke you didn't understand. There are forums for a lot of cars out there, some have been here for years, and you are asking one of the most easily searchable questions that people interested in these cars ask.
The internet is a very powerful tool which many questions like yours have already been answered.82 L Type
