Use a chevy Ecotec 4 banger out of a cobalt or S10 truck- I think they only weigh 350 lb.- thats about an 80 lb drop in weight and you could probable have it several inches farther back than the 5mge, the one in our Equinox has 182 hp and 172 ft lbs stock and gets up to 32 mpg in a much larger heavier platform. Also, the SS versions (in America) had up to 260 hp- not a bad engine for a Supra weighing in around 2800-3k lb., plus you get to subtract 80lbs up front...... With the chevy engines, I'm pretty sure a little research will get you around the FWD engine issue-Like the S10 truck bell housing.

    Update from ecotecpower.com
the Solstice/Sky and Colorado/Canyon share the same Aisin AR5 5spd trans. Looks like the Ecotec and Atlas 4cyl share the same bolt pattern.
    Also, consider the canyon/Colorado 5cyl.
Of course the above option would require computer mods, motor mounts, drive shaft mods and trans mount mods...But I bet that little engine would fit easily between the frame rails and the exhaust would be well away from the steering shaft....

Did you know large American corporations ( Including our Industrial Military Complex) spend more on political contributions than what they pay in taxes? That's called bribery in the private sector-why do we allow our politicians to be paid off so company's can do whatever they want without regard to right or wrong?

Most of the responses are bogus - the FNGs keep asking this same question instead of reading the info already posted on this forum.
