    Good day at Junk yard...

My wife's been bugging me....take me to the junk yard...let's find some parts for our supra's! So she comes out to the garage...and I tell her she needs to get changed - we're not going dance...it muddy there, there's spiders, and we're going to being climbing over stacked cars..ect... We went there to look for a radio bezel and this junk yard in south jersey has 2 mkII and 1 celica that I've been picking off for about two years now. Not much to them, they are crushed and have been left in the elements for a long time. The owner of the junk yard knows I need parts and cant find any supra around us so he said he wouldn't get rid of them as long as I needed them. Sure enough the two tone blue had a perfect radio bezel...and as my 15 yr old son and I are sitting in this supra getting radio bezel, I never notice that the seats weren't that bad...of course they were dirty, covered with glass, spider webs, and all types of stains (who knows what stains). So we removed the seats and started our half a mile walk back to the front office with the seats and other goodies, climbing over cars and passing these chairs thru obsticles - the owner charged me 100.00 for the seats, and didn't charge me for the radio bezel, mirror trianle plastic parts, handful of screws, nuts, and small misc plastic parts that I could grab. Not a bad day....glad the wife was bugging me to go! Got the seats home, used the bissell hot water vac on them and cleaned them for about an hour....three containers of black dirty water...an here was the result...

Good find, well worth the 100 bucks. Are you going to the old school import showdown at Englishtown next month? I went last year & it was awesome, there was supposed to be a supra there but after 3 trips around the park I still couldn't find it. Both of yours are clean enough for the show for sure.

It has been 8+ years since I have been to a Damon meet, but I'm sure you will have a great time there. Highly recommended.

Nice score! Have to try and make it to some junkyards myself, can't say I'm too optimistic about finding any supra let alone one with some goodies still left in it in my area.

well, went to the pick and pull friday to grab some window switches for my gs300. no supras at all in there. and no 82-85 celicas either. however, i did see a car i wish i could buy from them, though they wont sell any cars from the yard.

77 celica gt. bone stock except the rally lights on the front grill from what i could tell. still had the factory air cleaner on it. no rust i could see, just filthy and the moldy smell inside was so bad i almost puked when i opened the door. prolly why its in the yard. still sad to see such a straight 77 fastback in the scrap yard.

also saw my friends old 88 celica alltrac. all that was missing was the head, turbo, harness and ecu. block, and trans, diff, all 4 axels, hubs, driveshaft etc.. were there. not sure why it ended up in the junkyard. not wrecked and still pretty much complete asie from the parts i mentioned. id have liked to of had this one as well.
