I agree with Kevin. Be sure w/part#s.
Don't throw parts at a problem like a dealership will.

Question: Does the part number I have matter if my TPS isn't within specs according to the TSRM?

In other words, how would I know if my TPS is bad if perhaps the TPS already in it is the wrong one (bought the car used)? Like, what if the TPS in my car is before the redesign of 1985?

So, given I supply the part number on the TPS I have, isn't there a chance that I'm just going to be replacing the TPS with another TPS (from the seller) that still won't match?

Anywho, here is a pic of my TPS:

    Part # 89452‑28010

    Thanks in advance

what do you mean specs is there anything or info you can search to discover what # it should be. thats what you need to ask or search maybe by using your vin go to toyota they would probably help you or better use the engine code if the engine is not original or added the computer # in the car tough question ask the site under another category like restoration or generaL TECH

This is an original '85 TPS from a 111K mile P-5speed. Never changed.

Did the numbers change when a new batch of parts were built?

I have two other and both have different part numbers.
